Conference at-a-glance

The next California Small Farm Conference will be held October 29 & 30, 2017, in Stockton at the Robert Cabral Agricultural Center.

For 30 years the California Small Farm Conference has been a unique opportunity for everyone involved in California small-scale farming and ranching to learn from industry leaders and innovators, network and grow their businesses.

For two days more than 300 attendees join workshops, explore with field courses, network with colleagues, and enjoy a few social events. Please review the Conference Schedule for a complete listing of events by day and time. The Conference moves to a different host city each year to be as accessible as possible to farmers and other participants from all over the state and beyond.

Our Attendees

The Conference provides a forum for California’s small-scale farmers and their partners to share their unique concerns and experiences. It has grown into the state’s premier gathering for small-scale farmers and ranchers, farmers’ market managers, agricultural students, educators, support providers and advocates.

History

The brainchild of a group of small farm advocates with the University of California’s Small Farm Program, the first California Small Farm Conference was held in Stockton, CA in 1982 with a handful people in attendance. Today, the California Small Farm Conference is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors attracting 300 to 500 attendees each year.
