The Ecology Center has been a proud supporter of the California Small Farm Conference for many years, and has served on the Board since 2013. The Ecology Center’s mission is to inspire and build a healthy, sustainable, and just world for the East Bay, California, and beyond. Equal access to healthy food is key to that vision.

The Ecology Center’s Farmers’ Market EBT Program provides support to farmers’ market operators and community partners in order to establish, implement, and promote their CalFresh EBT program (formerly known as Food Stamps) at farmers’ markets statewide.

The Ecology Center provides FREE help with completing the USDA Food & Nutrition Service (FNS) application; obtaining a free Point-of-Sale device from California Department of Social Services (CDSS) designing and purchasing EBT scrip; and sharing best practices on staffing and redemption models. They also can provide free vendor education materials, bookkeeping tools, promotional posters and banners, and more! For more information, contact Leah Ricci at ebt@ecologycenter.org or (510) 548-2220 x236. This project is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, through a Farmers’ Market SNAP Support Grant.
