Farm Finance Networking Event
This “speed dating” and networking session will cover the different financing programs, loans, grants and other financial resources available for farmers and ranchers. It is structured as five small discussion groups that rotate periodically. Participants will learn about potential financing options, the details of the different programs and how to apply for them. Program staff from a variety of lending organizations, including California FarmLink, the USDA Farm Service Agency and American Ag Credit, will be available during this session to provide individual assistance for farmers. Participants will learn from lending practitioners about how they analyze and underwrite farm loans, how financing can help address an obstacle or opportunity a farmer may face and lead to increased profitability, and how to determine if and when a loan is the right step. Break-out sessions with experienced agricultural lenders will provide an overview of loan readiness, and discussion of various loan programs. The workshop centers on an interactive format to analyze farm enterprises and apply the information to participant’s unique situation.
