Farmers Market Metrics: Measuring and Communicating Economic, Ecological, Social and Human Capital

How do you know if your farmers’ market is as successful as it can be? Where are your opportunities to grow and impact more people? This workshop will introduce the Farmers Market Metrics (FMM) Program from the Farmers’ Market Coalition (FMC), which offers resources and templates for farmers’ markets to conduct internal evaluations of their own operations and reach. The FMM Program offers a set of standardized metrics, each with it’s own data collection and reporting strategy. The metrics are intended to assist market decisions concerning both market operations, as well as communications with customers, funders and other stakeholders.

Using new online courseware created by FMC, you will be introduced to the Farmers Market Metrics resources. After the demonstration, you will be given access to the online system for three months after the workshop in addition to one hour of technical assistance from FMC.
