Pastured Livestock Production on Small Farms

This workshop will cover techniques and information about raising chickens, hogs, and other animals on pasture on small farms.  Pame Wolfe, veterinarian from Chile with graduate studies in Preventive Veterinary Medicine in UC and livestock IOIA training, will cover health issues, preventive strategies and organic regulations in what concerns to health care when raising animals on pasture.  Two farmers, Chris Hay and Christy Lynn Levings, will discuss how they care and feed their pasture-based animals, proactive health strategies, marketing approaches, and the challenges associated with sustainable animal production on small farms.
