Whole Farm Revenue Protection: A New Risk Management Tool for Small, Diversified, Organic Growers

USDA Risk Management Agency has recently created a new product, Whole-Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP). WFRP provides a risk management safety net for all commodities on the farm under one insurance policy, enabling many growers who have previously not had insurance options to now obtain coverage. It is tailored for any farm with up to $8.5 million in insured revenue, including farms with specialty or organic commodities (both crops and livestock), or those marketing to local, regional, farm-identity preserved, specialty, or direct markets.  WFRP) is now available throughout  California, and can help protect up to 85 percent of losses on a small operation. This workshop will provide information on qualification, coverage levels, and whether or not this type of product makes sense for your operation. This workshop will also explore how to use this product in conjunction with financing to scale for profitability.
