Leah manages the Ecology Center’s Farmers’ Market Access & Equity Program, including Market Match and Farmers’ Market EBT work. Market Match is California’s largest healthy food incentive program, which matches customers’ federal nutrition assistance benefits, like CalFresh and WIC, at over 280 farmers’ markets across the state. The Farmers’ Market EBT program provides training and technical assistance to help farmers’ market operators establish, implement and promote CalFresh EBT access at their farmers’ markets or other direct marketing sites. Previously, Leah worked as a Program Manager at Fresh Approach/ Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association, developing strategies and conducting outreach to promote Market Match and CalFresh use at farmers’ markets in the Bay Area. Leah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from Bowdoin College in Maine.
